Chance McCormick-Stotch was scrounging around in the kitchen, looking for the hamster food to feed his awesome pet, Senor Demon-Butt. His parents got it for him because when he asked for a cat, they acted funny and insisted on getting a different pet. He didn't like the hamster at first, but the cute little furry guy grew on him.

He took Senor Demon-Butt everywhere with him! To his room, to the living room, to his parents' room when they were already going sleepies, which is just silly because it was too early for bedtime. Chance loves his pet hamster so much.  He knows he has the awesomest hamster ever. What other hamster can squeak when asked or totally be a ninja-hamster.

Chance grinned when he finally found the hamster food. He grabbed the box and ran to Senor Demon-Butt's cage. He opened it, pouring the food into the tiny bowl. Chance noticed though that Senor Demon-Butt was still in his little corner where he went to sleep, but he wasn't moving. Confused, he lightly poked the hamster. Senor Demon-Butt didn't move.

Chance gently grabbed the hamster and noticed how limp the animal was in his hand. He bit his lower lip and ran to his parents' bedroom door. He rapidly banged on the door. He heard his dads scurrying around inside and the door became unlock.

Kenny was wearing his sweatpants, shirtless while Butters in the background was trying to get his pants on. Kenny forced a small smile to his son though he was a little annoyed he and Butters got interrupted again. Chance looked up at his Daddy, frowning. This made Kenny frown himself.

"What's wrong, Chance?" Kenny asked.

"Daddy, I wents to go feed Senor Demon-Butt and I thoughts he was still sleepings but look! He's not moving, Daddy! Why isn't he moving?"

Kenny looked down at Chance's hands, where the hamster was. He bend down to his son's level, taking the hamster into his own hands. He closely examined the pet and he hissed quietly.

"Uh-oh..." Kenny mumbled.

"W-What is it?" Butters asked, finally getting those darn pants on and coming to see what was wrong.

"Senor Demon-Butt won't wake up, Dad!" Chance said, pointing to the hamster.

Butters looked at the hamster and frowned himself. "Uh-oh..." Butters mumbled also.

"How comes Senor Demon-Butt won't wakes up? He always wakes up when I's feedings him!" Chance asked, frowning.

Kenny gave the hamster to Butters and put his hands on his son's shoulders. Kenny looked into his son's eyes and felt a twinge of pain in his heart. This was going to be hard to explain to a four-year old.

"Chance, Senor Demon-Butt won't be waking up for a long time." Kenny said softly.

"But why?" Chance asked, tearing up.

"Don't cry, b-baby. Senor Demon-Butt's body just g-got really tired. So, he's g-going to be sleeping for a l-long time." Butters said, smiling sadly at Chance.

Chance sniffled and Kenny hugged his son close to him. Butters looked down at the lifeless hamster. He walked pass them and got an empty shoebox. He opened it and placed the hamster inside.

"T-There. Senor Demon-Butt w-will stay in here, o-okay Chance? Later, w-we can go out t-to the backyard and b-bury him." Butters said.

"Bury him...?" Chance questioned, wiping his eyes.

"Yeah, buddy. That's what you do when someone's body gets really tired." Kenny said, ruffling Chance's hair.

"So, when yours body gets tired, do I's gots to bury you, Daddy?" Chance asked.

Kenny fought back the lump in his throat and just nodded, patting Chance's head. Butters took Chance's hand and continued explaining about where his pet hamster will go. Kenny sighed and rubbed his face with his hands. A lot drama for a small pet.

Later, the three were in the backyard. Kenny had dug a small hole to place the shoebox in. Chance did the honors, before giving the box a kiss. Butters buried the box. The three bowed their heads. Kenny and Butters weren't really religious people but to make their son feel better, Butters said a small prayer for Senor Demon-Butt.

"Daddy?" Chance said, looking up at Kenny.

"Yeah kiddo?" Kenny said, smiling down at his son.

"Will Senor Demon-Butt go to heaven?" Chance asked.

Kenny was at first unsure how to answer that, but the heart-broken look in his son's eyes stopped him from telling the truth. Kenny sighed and patted Chance's head.

"Yeah, he'll go to heaven..." Kenny said. "He'll be with the angels...and the stupid-ass Mormons." Kenny added to himself.

"What?" Butters whispered, looking at Kenny. Kenny just cleared his throat and mumbled nothing to Butters. The three looked at the lump in the dirt for a while. Butters broke the silence and took Chance into his arms.

"How a-about you and I go back i-inside now and you c-can help me cook d-dinner?" He asked.

"Okay Dad." Chance said, hugging Butters.

Kenny watched the two go back inside the house. He looked back at the tiny grave. Kenny sighed and wiped his eyes. They were getting wet and Kenny felt a little silly for getting sad over his son's pet.

"Stupid hamster..." Kenny mumbled and went back inside himself.
Title: The Lessons Of Life And Death

Pairing: Kenny/Butters (with their babeh, Chance)

Rating: K? Idk.

Why did I made this sad? LOL, I'm sorry you guys. XD This was kinda in my head for a while anyway.

~iik and I had the idea that Chance wanted a cat but Butters was like, "NO, GET A HAMSTER INSTEAD." And Chance totally named it Senor Demon-Butt. Best name ever.

But I had hamsters before and I know they don't last for very long. ;~; I also bet this was hard on Kenny because, ya know, he's immortal~

Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed this piece. ;w;

Disclaimer: Kenny and Butters do not belong to me. Chance belongs to ~iik.
