Rei and Kouchou were walking back to the Akatsuki lair, finish with thier missoin. Rei was riding on top of his zombie dog, who's fur was matted and half of it's face was teared up, showing it's skull and almost the whole body was showing it's skeleton. Kouchou was walking besides the zombie dog, his sword over his shoulder. He was gluping down a bottle of sake, his face slightly red. Rei looked tired and worn-out. Kouchou looked at his friend, smirking.

"Oi. Wanna hit a bar before we get to the lair?" Rei's tired eyes glance at his friend, and shook his head.

"Not today, man. Too tired." Kouchou blinked in surprise. "Are ya sure, Rei?" Rei nodded, rubbing his eyes. Kouchou lift an eyebrow at his friend, wondering why he was acting so strange. He shurgged his shoulders, and both boys kept going.

They finally got to the lair, Rei summon his zombie dog away, the dog suddenly turning into dust and the air blew the dust away. They both entered the lair, Kouchou smirking and saying hello to everyone.

Rei didn't speak an ounce of anything and went straight to his room. Tsuki, who was talking with Kouchou, looked confused. "What the fuck is wrong with him?" she asked. Kouchou shurgged. "He said he was tired, so let's just leave him alone." Zumi scoffed and sat down on a chair. "Idiot." she mumbled.

Rei took off his Akatsuki cloak and his shoes, sighing to himself. He went to his bed, looking under it. He pulled out a brown bag and empty it on his bed. It was his escape, his freedom, his weed. He quietly started doing his daily routine, making a stogie for himself, filling it with weed. He grabbed his lighter, lit his stogie, and took a huge breath, inhaling the drug. He exhale the smoke, coughing a bit. He sighed as he did it again, putting away his brown bag.

Rei sighed as he took another puff from his stogie. The air in his room was filled with smoke, and the drug was slowly infecting his brain. Rei leaned back and layed on his bed. His door was locked, so no one was going to bother him today. Rei inhale another puff and he was dimly staring at the ceiling. The room was very quiet, Rei could only hear the sound of his breathing.

Rei lightly coughed again, feeling high now. He smiled dumbly and counted the tiles in his ceiling. He softly began to hum to himself, a old song he remember back in his childhood, he just can't ever remember the words to the song. As the room was completly covered with smoke, a figure took place. It slowly turned itself, what looked like, a human.

"Hello, Rei."

Rei's eyes turn to the sound. It was girl, who looked to be the age of 13, wearing a white dress, her skin looking sickly pale. She had long black hair and her eyes were purple, but they were dull. The girl was floating and her white dress was stained with forgotten blood. Rei groaned and turn his head away from the girl.

"Go away...." he slurred. The girl pouted cutely and hovered over Rei.

"Why say something so mean, Rei-kun?" she asked, her ink-black hair lightly covering Rei's face. Rei turned around, staring at the girl, glaring at her.

"Because you're not real." he whispered.

The girl smiled sweetly. "But, I'm real to you, aren't I?"

"You're dead." Rei stated. "You're just part of my fucked up imgination." Rei turned around, taking another puff. The girl frown at Rei.

"Rei-kun...." she whispered.

Rei let out a frustrated sigh, glaring at the girl again. "Go away...." he growled. The girl pouted again, her dull purple eyes looking sad. "Don't ignore me, Rei-kun..." she said softly, floating over Rei, her pale hand trying to pet Rei's hair.

Rei was too tired to deal with this. His eyes were red from the drug, but also it looked like he wanted to cry. "Please....leave me alone...." The girl rubbed her eyes, her tears threating to fall.

"Rei....it wasn't your fault I died...." she whispered. Rei turn away from her, closing his eyes tight. 'I can't hear you. I can't hear you. I can't hear you.'

The girl glared at Rei, floating to face him. "You can so hear me!! Listen! Please! That was years ago, Rei! You're hurting yourself to try and numb the pain! Please stop and just.....just get over it!"

Rei open his eyes, glaring at the girl. "Get over it?! I can't just get over it! You were everything to me! EVERYTHING!! Damn it!! Just go away!! GO AWAY!!"

The girl looked away, her tears falling. She floated away from Rei, looking out the fogged up window.

She wiped her eyes, looking back at Rei. "I know you love someone else. I know you try to get her to like you, but since you enjoy poisining yourself, you always mess up. And now, every year, when this day comes up, you feel guilty for doing the things you do, Rei."

The girl floated back to Rei, smiling at him. "I still love you, Rei. But, you have to let me go. You said so yourself. I'm dead."

Rei lifted his head, his tears quietly falling from his eyes. He lifted his hand, trying to touch the ghost-girl's face. But, when he touched her, she faded away, turning into smoke. He let out a sob, trying to quiet himself, he didn't want anyone knocking on his door. He glared at the ceiling, flicking away his stogie. He closed his eyes and whispered one thing before falling asleep.

"Kiku....."
